Scarves

Source

You’ve probably seen the big chunky plaid scarf trend all over Instagram or at your college sorority. Everyones doing it but can you blame them? Scarfs are the perfect way to bundle up on cold autumn days. Not just that but they’re a great way to style any plain outfit!

Knit Sweaters

You can never go wrong when it comes to sweaters. They’re the best way to stay warm and they go with any type of bottoms. Make sure to have a standard plain white and black colored sweater in your closet this fall. You can pair them with anything from jeans to patterned pants.

Booties

If I could wear booties year-round I totally would. They’re my favorite way to get some height. Your girl (me) is a whole 4’11, she needs all the help she can get without having to wear uncomfortable shoes. Since the heels are usually chunky, booties are much easier to walk in. You can pair them with jeans, a long coat, and a ribbed turtleneck.

Corduroy Jacket

Jackets are always a great idea during the fall and winter months. Corduroy jackets are even better during the fall since they’re not too heavy so you can wear them before it starts snowing out. They come in tons of different colors and some come with faux fur linings on the inside. My personal favorite are brown corduroy jackets, like the picture above! You can wear them over sweaters or long sleeve tops.

Teddy Jacket

Another jacket addition to your closet. This one you really can’t go wrong with because what’s better than wearing a giant teddy bear? Teddy coats and jackets are so darn comfortable but also really cute. Pair them with a t-shirt and some leggings or jeans for a simple, laid back look.

Plaid Skirts

Source

How cute is that plaid skirt? I don’t know about you guys but I’m obsessed! Skirts are the best because you can dress them up or down and they go with just about any top. My favorite look for the fall is a plaid fitted skirt with a sweater tucked in and some booties. You can even add a pair of tights if you prefer!

Flannels

The first thing I think of during the fall is flannel season, anyone else? I love a good oversized flannel top with jeans and sneakers. You can leave the flannel open and wear a plain T-shirt and jeans or button it up.

Sweater Dresses

I’m all about cozy and easy fashion. That’s where sweater dresses come into play. Simply grab your favorite sweater dress and pair it with tights and Dr. Martens! This is such a cute look and doesn’t require a lot of effort.

Cardigans

Source

Another fan favorite during the colder months are chunky cardigans. They’re a staple you need to have in your closet because you can never go wrong with too many cardigans. They go with basically any outfit and provide ultra comfort and warmth. I love to pair mine with a plain top, sneakers and either black jeans or leggings.

Knee-High Boots

Source

Knee-high and thigh-high boots have been all the rave these past few years. I’ve been seeing them everywhere and I’m loving it! They’re a great way to wear a skirt or dress during the colder months since only your upper thighs aren’t covered. My little hack with any type of long boots is to wear fuzzy socks underneath! It’s not like anyone can see them and they keep your feet SO warm. So grab your favorite plaid skirt outfit and wear it with a pair of knee-high boots.
