5 Healthy Morning Habits

I’ve never been a morning person, even now I wouldn’t say I’m a morning person but it is more tolerable. When I started watching healthy morning routines and habit videos on youtube it motivated me to incorporate their tips into my routine. As a college student I want to get as much sleep as I can before class or work; however, I realized I feel so much better when I start my mornings off right. So here are my top five favorite healthy morning tips that I would recommend to anyone looking to have a more productive morning.

1. Wake Up Early and Don’t Hit Snooze

If you’re someone who constantly wakes up at 11 am, try to get into the habit of getting up around 9 am. I’m not a huge morning person but I got into the habit of waking up at 9 and really don’t mind it now. It gives me time to go to the gym before work or get some blogging done before class. Another thing I can’t stand is people who hit snooze eight times. It’s time to turn the snooze option off for good. This way you know you only have one chance at getting up or you risk waking up late. Also, there’s no way you’re getting sleep with an alarm clock ringing every five minutes so might as well get up when you’re supposed to.

2. Nourish Your Body

I’m not a big eater in the morning but I try my best to have a little something. My favorite thing to have is a protein shake if I’m going to the gym or a homemade granola bowl before class. If you really can’t eat anything then at least drink one mason jar filled with room temperature water. I also love putting fruits like lemon or strawberries into my water for some taste and it helps me drink more.

3. Plan Your Day

I’m a huge planner so I love planning out almost every aspect of my day. I like to plan out my outfit, what time I’m going to the gym, my work and class schedule, and any errands I need to run. Take a few minutes out of your morning just to write in your planner and make a to-do list. This is especially useful for college students who have assignments due throughout the week. If you plan ahead of time it’ll help keep you organized throughout the day and more efficient.

4. Meditate, Do Yoga, or Go To The Gym

Whether you’re a yoga, meditation or gym type of person the morning is a great time to do one of these activities. This way you’re relaxed and awake and ready to take on the day. Personally, I love going to the gym in the morning because it helps boost my energy and almost forces me to eat breakfast since I never workout without having something in my stomach. 5. Start Your Day Off Positive

I’m all about putting positive vibes out into the universe and the universe reciprocating back. If you’re going to be grumpy or negative then it makes sense your day is going to be filled with bad energy. Doing small things such as making your bed can make you feel good or listening to podcasts. You can even mentally list three things you’re grateful for. Do anything that makes you feel happy and good so you’re starting you day off with positive energy.
